Honda has pulled out all the stops to showcase the finest technology ever seen on a road bike with the all-new VFR1000F and touring-spec VFR1000GT motorcycles.

Along with the sexiest VFR yet, Honda has finally succumbed and given us a road motorcycle with a V5 engine derived from the successful 990cc RC211V MotoGP machine.

If that's not enough, they've also linked it to a Ferrari-style push-button gearchange for the fastest, smoothest gearchange yet seen, running through shaft drive with a trademark VFR single-sided swingarm.

Now then.... how about a new SuperBlackbird with a 1200cc V5? Yes please, Honda-San.

Agreed, I was reading about the VFR in MCN this morning.  It sounds like it's going to be awesome.

Looks more like a superbike. Not a bad thing.

BTW, anyone else noticed a sharp rise in new riders out on their tests in the last couple of months?

I thought the VFR 800 was a cracking bike.
That definately does it for me.

Looks awesome...

And like Blarno says, it will sound even better (fitted with the right exhaust!)

V nice; and a Honda so will outlast all others

I had a VF500FII in 1988/9.  Top toy but the 16" front / 18" back combination dropped it into a turn like a stone into the sea off a cliff.  Very disconcerting.

Was it the VFR that once had oval cylinders and pistons?

I love Honda when they tread the thin line between genius and madness

I built a model of one not long after they were released. Definite lotto bike for me. Never owned a bike but if I won the lotto, I'd have one of them. Honda displayed one at Goodwood 3 years ago:
