Yep, I know I haven't been on here a while (work and family have kept me far too busy damn it), but I thought I'd quickly post, what was quite possibly, the finest time I've had behind the wheel.
The said motor was driven at Thruxton as part of a driving experience, so no, I haven't won the lottery, but all I can say is - what a fabulous machine. It flatters a driver (well me anyway) like nothing else. Phenomenal grip, pace, handling, steering, ride, and brakes. Fab noise in the cabin when pressing on, but it sounded much better on the outside IMO.
I found that it could be placed with pin point accuracy on the track and it felt utterly composed through complex and chicane. The car seemed to shrink around you, and the driving position was spot on. The flappy paddle gear changes were lightening quick, and I must admit, I didn't miss a normal gear box.
First time I've driven at Thruxton, and it's not surprising it's the fastest in the UK (so I was told). I think I was doing in excess of 150mph through one of the faster corners. I found the course a little featureless though. The circuit surface felt super smooth, so the ride was great. Not sure what it would be like on normal road.

Anyway that was my Ferrari virginity lost, and boy was it good ;)

I was jealously admiring the yellow Scuderia 16M in this week's Autocar earlier. I'm positively green, now!

Au contraire, I think that colour looks good on the Scuderia. It'd be a tough decision to choose which colour to have it in, if you did win the Lotto!

i thought it looked great in blue. It certainly stood out amongst the plethora of red and yellow f355s they had. I was told that it was a colour used on old racing ferraris but i can't remember what era and this colour was recommissioned for the scud I was also told that there are only 4 of these in the world in this colour. I recall seeing pics of one in matt black which looked fab.

when I looked a the 430 the salesman told me anything other than red is worth a lot less on the used market.

I saw a baby blue - non-metallic - Lambo Gallardo Spyder a couple of months ago.

Looked like the one in the car mags from the launch in Miami (?) a year or 2 ago.

It certainly didn't look a good choice for Scotland, even on a sunny day.

There was a comment in a classic car mag recently from a dealer about Ferraris and 'Retail Red'.

If it was my choice I'd have one in black (whichever model but especially the 308/328).
