Wonder where they nicked their naming idea from?*  And pipping the competition by  1/100th of a second to 60 in a car that you can't buy and independently test.  Well, I'm convinced...

(I'm certainly not against the idea of these vehicles, it's just I'd hoped we wouldn't see the Donkernator principle applied so quickly and crassly.)

*Still, the French have Ampere and Coulomb, and the Italians have Volta.

I bet there's a massive rush to register every possible name that has an electric connotation!

Nice-ish looking if you're happy with the SUV proportions and stance - I guess that's inevitable given the popularity of this style of vehicle though.

I would have thought they would all be chasing the range (which looks impressive on this) rather than irrelevant acceleration times.

Once these things start to get too good though, they're surely going to be taxed like mad to make up for the lack of fuel duty? - and somehow the massive improvements to the infrastructure that will be required for the delivery of the necessary energy are going to have to be paid for.

by too good, you mean popular? How will they be taxed? How will greedy tax man know what you are using your electricity for? Or will we see widespread road tolls to cover the loss?

We will soon be charged by the mile driven, the infrastructure is all there it just needs the political will to make the switch.

I agree (not with the principle but with the inevitability). It might be 1p a mile for electric cars, 5p for petrol cars and 7p for diesel. As Petrol and diesel cars fade away, the 1p for electric becomes 2p, 3p, 4p etc etc. Tax has to increase to meet the incompetent Politicians' propensity to waste other people's money!

The forum's capacitance for the pun run never ceases to amaze.  Resistance is futile...

No I mean when they get to the point they offer plenty of range and cost about the same as today's internal combustion engines.

Resistance is the property, Ohm the SI unit.  Legitimate pun, for flux sake...
