Time for more guesses that will doubtless be rent asunder by another random qualifying session, but come Monday you'll find you got nine points for getting the correct drivers in fifth, seventh and eighth. Or something.
Anyway, have a go at guessing who'll finish in positions one to eight, who'll take pole and who'll annoy their team by setting fastest lap just before the finish, having been as slow as a slow thing all afternoon.
And don't forget the bonus question, whose vagueness reflects that fact we don't yet know who'll be the second Ferrari: who will be the slowest driver in Q3?
Deadline: Friday 11 September 2359 GMT
(let's hope the CIA don't take me out for writing "dead" and "11 September" in the same paragraph)

Cheers Nick: you just reminded me I'll be on a plane on the morning of 11th September when I fly to Milan :sigh:
Result if I get to see an Italian driving a Ferrari at Monza; not a common sight. _________________ Call the fire brigade, call the firebrigade......

Hehehe ... good luck predicting this race after today's practice sessions: the McLarens were fastest in the morning session, but in the afternoon it was Sutil top, followed by Grosjean ...
Not a good second session for title contenders: Webber 14th, Barrichello 16th, Vettel 18th, Button 19th.

Looks like KERS is quite an advantage. I thought both debutantes did a respectable job, despite Fisi ending up in the Badoer position. Three-quarters of a second down on Kimi ain't bad and there's more to come. Liuzzi was just under a second away from Sutil. I suspect that the margins will be rather smaller when they knuckle down and go for it tomorrow.

Some quality driving there. I've never seen Ruby look so confident, and Button is right back where he belongs too. Raikkonen has returned to his 2007 levels of metronomic consistency and Sutil put in a storming effort after Fisi hogged the limelight at Spa. But I was even more impressed by Liuzzi - barely a hint of rustiness, I look forward to seeing him push Sutil very hard in the near future. Ferdy and Quick Nick were stealthily excellent, as usual.
Such was the standard that it threw Kovalainen's performance into sharp relief. Nothing wrong with his core pace, but there's clearly a problem there - presumably with his ability to make the tyres work in the early stages of a stint.
Mind you, he still outscored Hamilton... no regrets my arse, that was a very silly mistake for a topline driver. _________________ "Racing is life. Everything before and after is just waiting." Steve McQueen |

Another one who was impressed by Liuzzi - I really thought he would struggle at Monza. To qually 7th having never driven a latest generation car is quuite remarkable, considering the hash Fisi was making of his Ferrari opportunity. _________________

+1 for Liuzzi.
It was great to see Rubens driving the wheels off his car mid-race too.
It actually came across like that from the in-car pictures. |

+1 from me on those comments too.
Looks like Brawn have got to the bottom of their tyre-temperature worries and wouldn't it be great to see their 2 drivers battle for the title all the way down the line? Jenson was gracious in defeat too; wonderful to see 2 team-mates congratulating each other and both beaming like it were Christmas (unlike some of the other pretend expressions we have seen from time to time - Alonso and Hamilton, anyone?) _________________ Papped by Paul; London 2008-09-27

Not quite true - he had driven the car several times in straightline aero tests so was familiar enough with its systems, clutch, etc - and has almost certainly spent time in Mclaren's simulator, too. _________________ "Racing is life. Everything before and after is just waiting." Steve McQueen |

Oh shit. I think many of us (me included) misread the bonus question.
It was slowest driver in Q3 (meaning 10th position), not slowest in qualifying.

Think I’m the Kimi of the forum F1 game! Rubbish in the first third of the season (by refusing to believe that the Brawns were as strong as they were), finally getting my act together and picking up some of the lower points, then a few podium finishes and a lucky(ish) win. _________________ "I’m not gonna wear a ladies’ wetsuit I’m a man! ...Get me a small man’s wetsuit, please." |

What a tremendous effort by me. I couldn't have got 0 points if I'd deliberately tried to!
Shows how much I know about F1 so for the next race I'm going for the Renault with the Pit wall under the crossover. Cluedo is much easier. _________________ Call the fire brigade, call the firebrigade......

No offence to Sav, but I'd much rather see Mrs S win this year. Wonder if she'll be able to get to a 'puter for the next race's prediction, or will she have her hands full with something else??? _________________
