How do car manufacturers do it? Days after my warranty ran out the problems started. First it was a dodgy seat runner that won't lock in place and now the drivers door either refuses to open or refuses to shut!
Who'd buy a Fiat eh?! |

Tell me about it. Hence mine is going. Last night it wouldn't select reverse until the 4th attempt, despite feeling for all the world like it had slotted into gear correctly. Developing problem, I feel. |

| They now offer a 5 year warranty so a new one should get two more years faultless running than mine! |

A warranty doesn't make a car run faultlessly, it just takes away the cost when it breaks, but you still get the hassle!!

it did for me Martin, that was my point! From my contact with the dealer for servicing I shudder at the thought of having to approach them with any problems! |

My Seicento was perfectly reliable.
I had it for nearly 3 years and it only needed a new petrol tank, a new radiator then developed 3 oil leaks simultaneously when the head and sump both went porous. The car was about 6 years old at this point.
After that it ran for a year with no hassles before a snapped handbrake cable and then the clutch cable. Then a BMW went in to the back of it and it was pronounced 'not economically viable to repair'.
Truly faultless motoring. ;-)
Park's FIAT were/are a very good dealer though.

If it was anything like my Cinquecento the fuel tank was free, cuz it was a recall
Mine was pretty reliable, had 5 of them, and between them I had a broken speedo cable, headgasket and a clutch cable
Cant complain, my Toyota Liteace I had in Oz was a whole heap of trouble worse!
