| Does the complete absence of any comments on this week's Autocar supplement mean that everyone is moved to indiffernce by the car or does nobody buy the magazine anymore? |

It fell out of the bag when I opened Autocar this week and went straight into the recycling bin. BMW make some absolutely excellent cars but why do they have to keep foisting this rubbish on us. I mean why buy a 5 series GT when you can buy a second hand X6 which is effectively the same car? _________________

I really like these supplements Autocar do. It allows a deeper insight into cars than the short stories they run these days.
As an aside, where the heck did the Pug 5008 come from? Haven't seen anything of it on the net or in Autocar's news pages. _________________

It will be paid for by BMW so I wonder what the conclusion is? _________________ Aint no substitute for cubic inches. |

Oh of course, paid advertising, but then f it means we get to see a designer's point of view and early sketches, then I'm all for it. _________________

| Unless it's on a car I'm interested in these generally go straight to the recycling bin. As it did in this case. |

I read through it Dave. I still buy and quite like Autocar, I think it's less than a pint of beer which I'd enjoy far less and I've still got all the old issues I have going back to the early 80s when I started driving. I used to post up what's in it but (like the 16th Sept ) people rarely reply so i don't really bother now as I guess not many on here buy/read it much
Can't say the 5-series GT is a car I'd ever buy ( I'm not a big car fan generally ) but I enjoyed the inside look at the car, esp the development, drive story and build of the car |

I generally like these supplements as as Matt said you get more information on the development of the car but this one seems far more influenced by the manufacturers marketing department than previous ones.
One thing I noticed was the 'design sketches' which are seemingly included to make you think how close to the original sketches the production model is, until you look at the artists signiture, dated '09. |

| I don't buy the mag very often these days, but I usually avoid it altogether when these things are attached. I like to have a little flick before purchase and the bag prevents this. |

One thing I do like about the GT (just about the only thing save the nice fascia design) is that the upright grille isn't too far away from going proper shark-nose. _________________

| Finally read this yesterday. I always enjoy these supplements, even if I'm not ever likely to be in the market for the car. It was beautifully produced too - top class photography, in particular. I hope they'll do one for the new XJ. |
