Because Kuwait (and thereabouts) is the only place where it won't look completely OTT.

Isn't it as big as a Q7 but with a quote, "coupe profile".

Other than the gaping grille which is hideous, the general shape and profile looks okay to me.

Even I'm better looking than a Q7, Bob.

Very hard to get an idea of scale in the pictures, apparently its bigger in length and width than a RangeRover, but 210mm shorter, this thing is mammoth!

I don't hate it. Audi are on their way to some amazing designs, they are not quite there yet though.

The rear of this is interesting, quite '80s retro. The less said about the front the better.

Indeed it is huge. From the article "At 5020mm long and 2040mm wide, the Q8 conceptís footprint is larger than that of a Range Rover but it stands 210mm shorter (I presume they mean lower??) at 1700mm. The carís wheelbase is 3000mm, which is 78mm longer than that of a Range Rover, and it rides on 23in two tone alloy wheels sitting within bulging wheel arches."

Hmmm - can't help feeling they're moving in the opposite direction, having made some very handsome cars over the last 10-20 years, they've recently launched a dismaying number of munters ... and even their non-munter new cars are damned with the faint praise of "not as nice as the model it replaces".

Hmmm, I've got coupes at home and neither of them looks like that.
I'd compare it to a Reliant Scimitar or the VW Polo estate.

I agree, but there is something in their designs (3D lights and grill, use of LED and TFT for example ) that hints at what cars will look like in the future, and I'm hoping it all comes together in something ground breaking soon.

Actually, seeing all these "SUV 4/5 door coupes" and then the Rover SD1 photo in the other thread on the Vauxhall Viceroy, makes you realise that Rover has the 4/5 door coupe thing sorted in the 1970's. Everyone else has been playing catch up ever since.

If the upcoming Range Rover Evoque + / Range Rover Sport coupe looks like an SD1 on stilts and steroids, we'll have come full circle. †

An XE and XF hatch / fastback would be great. Especially with a side hinged hatch a la E-Type. Rather like the RD-6 concept that never got made.
