Jaguar XF from the A pillar back. Much less desirable, though.

Looks like it has far more in common with the A5 than the A4?

Autocar's "gallery" is rubbish, isn't it? The pics are so small they're not worth looking at. There are bigger versions on a competitor's website.

I prefer the looks of the Rover SD1, but sadly they don't make them any more.

Very nice - perfect layout for me - I don't need the full height of an estate but do need a hatch to lob bikes in. Handy...

I'm glad they've kept that nice wheelarch accent from the A5, but I have to say that apart from things like the TT and R8, Audi are just cranking the same car out in different sizes. They need to introduce some clearer differentiation between models. And bring back the A2.

Looks crap.It's a mish mash of just about everything else in the upper price bracket....

There's overtones of Merc and BMW...I'd look closer but it's lost that thing that makes Audi different from the other two..

...I'm sure there's a porker line somewhere in there if I cared too look.

Not too sure on that, it does look better than the saloon but is it another derivitave too far, Audi customers and staff will start to get confused about exactly what car they want and will it steal sales from itself?

Is it an A4 hatch or an A5 5 door?

Also a family hatch with only two rear seatbelts!!

The problem with pillarless windows is that at some point they will stop working properly, if they're the ones that automatically drop.

My Alfa GT was afflicted with a problem there from day 1 and a recent buyers guide for the current M6 highlighted this as a problem on them too.

It's ok if the car is in warranty but a proper fix will involve a new motor and labour time and easily be a few hundred quid.

What is the point of this car? Is it a hatch or a saloon? If it's a saloon, I can't see it offering anything over the A4. Why not just make this the A4?

Same goes for the Passat CC. Pointless.

The problem I see now is that while they are trying to fill every niche possible, they all look the same. Like the same car in different lengths and number of doors.

Same thing with Aston Martin.
