Sorry for the lack of consultation, but there was an untouchable deal that came out 8 days ago, so here it is:

Edge Sport manual with Lux pack, so loads of gear incl power heated cooled memory leather alcantara seats, opening pano roof, 12 speaker Sony stereo, lane keep, traffic sign recognition, handsfree w power boot etc.

Replaces an ST3 that replaced the Mustang, partly because the deal was great, partly because it is huge and will be an excellent family car.

I appreciate many will think ST3 to this is retrograde, but even in the first 30 minutes  it is clearly very quiet and comfortable, even on the 20" wheels. I also really like the silver and black look.

Nice! I meant to say on the other thread when the Edge was mentioned that it a handsome beastie.

That is exactly the same as my clients apart from the manual - and they think it is a much better motorway cruiser and much quieter than the Kuga they had.

I like it.

The Vignale version looks nice inside but I'd want it de-chromed like yours on the outside.

C-Max pcp is up in June; worth looking at an Edge (too big?) or Kuga?  I see that the latest Kuga e-brochure does not even have dimensions in it, so how do I know if it will fit my garage?

Those are 20" wheels? They don't look it. That thing must be massive.

I've seen a few of these recently, not surprising when there's a massive Ford dealer nearby, all in that gaudy orange colour.

2 years ago I'd have loved to have got an orange Kuga but couldn't afford it; the C-Max was sitting in the showroom already discounted as it was the superseded shape (pre-Aston grille). Vignale trim level looks good but is somewhat pricey, plus the unpainted black plastic cladding helps disguise the height of the Kuga and Edge yet the top trim levels come with it all painted, which ruins the effect

I think it is the photo angle. They don't look small in the flesh.

It is big (Mondeo estate sized) but not all that high.

cant believe the lack of consultation on this,I may have to instigate legal action to ensure the correct process is applied. It's a fundamental issue about who governs what cars we buy.

You just can't ignore the forum and railroad through your car purchasing desires.

In the last 12 months - personal cars Kuga, RS, Mustang,ST3,Edge.

Company cars, S-Max, Mondeo Hybrid, 2 C-Max and a Mondeo Estate.

The personal bit is very unusual in terms of numbers.

I'll have to confess that I think the Edge a very handsome beast but not in the colour combo. I've a dislike of grey/black wheels and the Silver doesn't sit right with them to my eyes, sorry.

My next door neighbour has a black Edge with silver alloys and it looks the business. I'd actually say it looks better than my X5 as it's not as bulky.

Like the look of the edge but the dashboard isn't attractive - mine would be the Titanium one with the Lux pack

Pretty similar thoughts here. It's way better looking than a Kuga and a good shape overall.

Unless I'm getting the model years wrong, according to the web a 2017 US spec Edge Sport has a different interior - looks better to my eye. Is that interior coming to the UK or is the "Sport" a different non-Europe model?

I think that is a 2014 interior.

I just looked up the price of the Edge - not cheap is it, c£37K for the Sport in Auto? My client's brother in law works for a Ford Dealer which is where he gets his and he is always happy with the deals but it would need to be a great deal with that top line price.

Vignales can go over 40k. The deal I had is a lot less than that. Monthly PCP has gone up £22 over the Focus for a car listing at £10k more.

If you think £40k is a lot have a look at Audi Q2  prices (2 rings smaller), Disco sport, big Kia etc.

I know the prices of the Q2 are just mad but when Racing paid c£39 for his 440i and I paid the same for mine with almost nothing left unticked on the options list (albeit 3 months old), it just didn't add up in my head - a sign of getting old obviously.

Kia Sportage in kitchen sink KX-5 spec is £27k on broadspeed, the Edge Sport is £10k more and needs the Lux pack. No brainier.
